Dorcas Asubonteng, a 42-year-old mother of two, is the dynamic founder and owner of Dorpoult, a leading player in the animal sector in the Ashanti region. Dorcas started with a dream to become a banker

After a year in apprenticeship, she met a man who would forever change her career trajectory. Having defied societal prejudice and family pressure she has become a force to reckon with especially in the Ashanti Region and its environs and some territories in the North. Not only has Dorcas earned her place as a leading distributor for De Heus, but she has also established the role of women in all aspects of agriculture thus emphasizing the role of women in such an integral way.For a decade, Dorcas played a crucial role in expanding the importer's business, achieving an impressive volume of 5,000 metric tons distributed throughout the country. Her expertise and dedication were instrumental in this growth. However, in 2017, the unexpected passing of her boss who was the main distributor for De Heus/Koudijs provided the perfect catalyst for Dorcas to birth Dorpoult and transition into her role as our lead lady in the Ashanti region and the North. Koudijs De Heus saw Dorcas’s potential and entrepreneurial acumen and in 2018 they reached out to Dorpoult to start pushing the sales for the company in the Ashanti region and its environs.

Recognizing the potential for continued growth and innovation, Dorcas partnered with De Heus Ghana known more popularly as Koudijs. This strategic alliance allowed Dorpoult to work directly with a reliable supply source and leverage its extensive distribution network to reach more areas in Ghana. Over the past five years, Dorpoult has experienced an average annual growth rate of 50% in volume, a testament to Dorcas’s leadership and the robust partnership with De Heus Ghana.Dorcas Asubonteng’s commercial acumen has been the cornerstone of Dorpoult's success. Under Dorcas’s leadership, Dorpoult has established a comprehensive distribution network, including multiple warehouses and shops in key locations such as Accra, Kumasi, Tema, and Takoradi. This network ensures that high-quality animal feed is readily available to farmers across Ghana.

Dorcas has always prioritized quality assurance, ensuring that every bag of feed meets the needs of her farmers and smaller scale dealers and promptly reporting any inconsistencies back to the head office for further investigations and quick solutions.
